We’re looking for an MS-level graduate student with a strong background in RL and hands-on hardware experience to conduct empirical validation of our new RL theory.

We may offer partially funded positions for Ph.D. students in any area of nonlinear control theory, robotics, or aerospace autonomy if students are externally funded. Please see the following call for past openings, and contact us if interested. Undergrads and M.S. students are also welcome to contact us to discuss ways to contribute to our projects. Currently, I am mainly looking for undergrad/MS students with strong experience in generative AI or in robotics. A strong background in control theory is always a plus. The following is our incomplete list of other entry-level projects.

  • Experimental validation of robotic autonomy, including design and development of unique robotic platforms
  • AI-based algorithms for aerospace autonomy (requirement: machine learning basics and implementation skills)

We are currently seeking a Japanese undergraduate/graduate intern (preferably based in the US, but negotiable otherwise) with strong backgrounds in robotics, control theory, and foundation models for a role running from early May through mid-August. The position is partially to fully funded, depending on qualifications, and will involve developing and implementing foundation model-based nonlinear control algorithms on our robots.
